Family man, fireman, cook, and outdoorsman: Ben doesn't take any of these lightly! His passion for cooking began at an early age while watching his mom cook nightly meals in their family kitchen. He was inspired by the way she was always able to pull a meal together without a recipe. Fast forward to college and early adulthood, Ben found that he could do the same! This came in handy when he was expected to cook a for a crowd as a rookie fireman.
Ben's love of the outdoors has allowed him to combine two of his passions: hunting and cooking. "There is something rewarding about being able to cook and eat what you harvest," he states. He most enjoys hunting whitetail deer, elk, and axis. However if you ask him his favorite meat to eat, he will without hesitation tell you it's axis.
Most important of the three is undoubtedly his family. When he's not at the fire station, Ben is usually at home spending time with his wife, daughter, and two golden retrievers.
