One of my favorite burgers is a patty melt. This sauce I used on these sliders will elevate your patty melts! Or any burger for that matter!
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 45 minutes
Servings: 4-6
Ingredients:
12 rolls cut into 6 roll pieces
1.5-2 lbs ground beef
1 onion diced
1/2 lb bacon diced
12 slices Colby Jack cheese
1/2 cup mayo
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
2 tbs bbq sauce
Butter
Instructions:
Preheat griddle to medium heat. Begin to cook bacon.
Once bacon is about halfway done add onions.
While bacon and onion cook, form two patties a little bit bigger than the size of your 6 rolls (it will shrink when you cook it).
Once bacon and onion are browned move to a side of griddle that is turned off.
Heat griddle to medium high heat. Place burger patties down and season with desired seasoning. Cook for about 5 minutes and flip. Continue to cook until done to liking and remove from heat.
While burgers cook make the sauce. Combine mayo, Dijon mustard, and bbq sauce in bowl. Stir to combine.
Add butter to griddle over medium heat. Cut dinner rolls in half horizontally so they make an open face. Place open face side down on griddle. Top with cheese followed by sauce, burger patty, bacon and onions, more cheese, more sauce, and other half of dinner rolls.
Cook until golden brown on each side. Slice and enjoy!
