Blueberry Buttermilk Biscuits

Sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 1 tbs baking powder

  • 2 tbs sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 stick salted butter

  • 3/4 cup of buttermilk

  • 1/2 cup blueberries


Directions:


1.Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.


2. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt into a large bowl.


3. Cut butter into flour mixture until it becomes coarse crumbs.


4. Add milk and stir using a wooden spoon. Be careful not to overwork the dough!


5. Transfer dough to a floured surface and flatten. Pour blueberries over dough. Fold dough in half over and over itself, rotating 90 degrees after each fold. Repeat this 5-6 times.


6. Use your hands to flatten dough to 1" thick.


7. Use a biscuit cutter (or a cup) to cut out the shape of your biscuits.


8. Transfer to your cast iron and bake for 12 minutes. Brush with melted butter!
