Jalapeño cheese grits
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients:
6 jalapenos
2 cups freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese
4 cups 5 minute grits
4 cups water
4 cups heavy cream
Creole seasoning to taste
Instructions:
Preheat grill to high heat. Place jalapenos on grill and cook until charred on the outside and soft on the inside.
While the jalapeños are grilling, heat a medium sized skillet to high. Add water and heavy cream.
Once jalapeños are done, remove from grill. Deseed and dice jalapenos. Add to skillet.
Bring skillet to a boil and reduce heat to low. Stir in grits. Continue to cook and stir until thickened. Turn off heat.
Melt in cheddar cheese. Season to taste and enjoy!
