Jalapeño cheese grits


Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 30 minutes

Servings: 6


Ingredients:

  • 6 jalapenos

  • 2 cups freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese

  • 4 cups 5 minute grits

  • 4 cups water

  • 4 cups heavy cream

  • Creole seasoning to taste


Instructions:

  1. Preheat grill to high heat. Place jalapenos on grill and cook until charred on the outside and soft on the inside.

  2. While the jalapeños are grilling, heat a medium sized skillet to high. Add water and heavy cream.

  3. Once jalapeños are done, remove from grill. Deseed and dice jalapenos. Add to skillet.

  4. Bring skillet to a boil and reduce heat to low. Stir in grits. Continue to cook and stir until thickened. Turn off heat.

  5. Melt in cheddar cheese. Season to taste and enjoy!
