Peanut butter and bacon jam smash burgers

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 30 minutes

Servings: 3-4

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef

  • Sliced American cheese

  • Peanut butter

  • Buns

  • 1 lb bacon

  • 1 small yellow onion diced

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat one side of flat top to low heat. Add diced bacon. While bacon cooks, dice onion. When bacon is about half way done, add the onion.

  2. Once bacon and onions are done, add the brown sugar and water. Stir to combine and cook until tacky and thickened. Remove from heat.

  3. Heat flat top to medium high heat. While it heats up, form patty balls that are a little bit smaller than a tennis ball.

  4. Place patty balls on griddle and smash into the griddle using a grill press or spatula. Season to taste with burger seasoning of choice.

  5. Cook until a nice crust has developed. Flip burger, top with cheese, and remove from heat.

  6. Toast buns and assemble burgers. Top the patties with the bacon jam and spread peanut butter on the top bun. Enjoy!
