Smoked Philly cheesesteak queso

I’m combining two of my favorite things… a Philly cheesesteak and queso! This is a for sure hit at any gathering!



Philly cheesesteak smoked queso


Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 1.5-2 hours

Servings: 10


Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of thinly sliced beef (I used a ribeye)

  • 1 yellow onion diced

  • 1 red bell pepper diced

  • 1 jalapeno diced

  • 1 lb if white American cheese

  • 1 block of cream cheese

  • 1 can evaporated milk

  • Steak seasoning of choice


Instructions:

  1. Preheat flat top or skillet to medium high heat. Cook veggies and steak. Season to taste with steak seasoning.

  2. Transfer veggies and steak to a foil tray. add American cheese, cream cheese, and evaporated milk.

  3. Add to smoker or grill. I used the charbroil pro series grill that can convert to a charcoal grill. I then used charcoal and wood chunks.

  4. Grill or smoke over low heat or about 250 degrees F for atleast an hour and half, stirring occasionally.

  5. Once the cheese is thoroughly melted and can be easily mixed, remove from grill and season to taste with more seasoning. Enjoy!
